Flickr Faves & Sugar

Ahhh, so much inspiration. It is so very easy to lose an hour just clicking through all the crafty goodness on Flickr!
And here’s Sugar the Shmerpi and her little scottie dog (a custom order). The request was for bright and colouful, and with a dog softie.
I’ve used mostly Japanese fabrics and a cute Shinzi Katoh trim. I named her “Sugar” because she reminds me of a big, fluffly cupcake!
It’s always challenging and fun to make custom soft toys - working with the customer’s requirements and trying to add my own little touch to it as well :-) However, in an effort to complete a few overdue projects and try out some new things, I am ceasing the option to order a custom-made soft toy from tomorrow (so I’ll be removing the items from my Etsy Shop). I’ll offer the option again in early July but will probably limit the number on the Shmerpi and Baby Chibi dolls just to keep it manageable.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll probably be posting less as well - perhaps just once a week. June is looking like another very busy month for our family with important decisions to be made - including the direction and future of this little blog and One Red Robin :-)
But for now, I think it is definitely time to offer up another GIVEAWAY!

oh wow! so much to choose from! i like cupcakes, cake, brownies, cookies and lately i’ve been looking at green tea flavored pastries. i like the delicate flavor and the color, too!
Chocolate creme brulee is mine. We always have kitkats in the fridge….chocolate is evi, but oh so good. I also love those mini jelly cups that you get in the asian grocery store and hershey bars from the US.

I am just going to have to go and have a look at flickr now, theres that hour gone. What a day to discover your blog with a giveaway happening. Well my favourite sweet thing would have to be Terry’s choc oranges. Do you know those ones that come in segments like an orange? YUM. Not indulging at present doing Weight watches :(
Oh, how can I resist the chance to have one of those lovely Baby Chibi’s for myself (I mean, my daughters)? Hmmm. I think at the moment, my favorite thing is a Skor bar. It’s chocolate-covered toffee. Yum-o!
Ooh, a sweet baby Chibi doll my 11 month old baby girl would love to cuddle :) Chocolate coated licorice is one of my favourite sweets!

What a way to bring out the lurkers! I can’t go past Cadburys. And here in New Zealand we have a new range of “desserts” bars fromCadbury - lemon cheesecake, fudge brownie and banoffee pie flavours. Yummo. I can’t decide which I like best! :)
Hi, you knew chocolate is good stuff for us girls, right?! I love soft, dark, real chocolate. Just one bar,…or two.. And I also love your crations. I am working on two ruby dolls right now, let you know when they are finnished.

Your work is so beautiful cant wait to get mine next month =)… My favorite candy is Swedish fish but it has to be the aqua life ones. I’m super picky and I only eat certain amount of each color and give the rest away!
Sugar is gorgeous, I love her little scottie dog, I had a real one when I was younger! The blogmeet looks like it was a lot of fun too, Dana said she had a great time. My favorite chocolates at the moment are Turkish Delights … love the taste, smell and colour and a new find … Uncle John’s Chocolate covered licorice ( I keep finding it at Sunday Markets!)YUM!

My favourite sugar treat of all time are Baci chocolates. So rich and marvellous and I love the fact that you get a little message inside that brightens your day. The last one I had I keep by my computer ‘Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none - w. shakespeare’. Wonderful :)
I’m a choc/sugar addict. I have recently given up sugar, this means no lolly’s, chocolate (including hot chocolate), cakes or sweets of any kind (including fruit juice). I’m allowed to have one indulgence a week, so if I was to use that up on a sweet/chocolate/lolly it would probably have to be a bounty, or home made rum balls!
My favorite sugary treat is marzipan :-)

Oh boy, lots of pictures to look at and a contest too! First Sugar came really cute. Favorite sweet thing, good question…..I guess I would have to say any kind of good dark chocolate and Hershey Kisses (http://www.hersheys.com/Kisses). Then there is always a good chocolate cake too.

How to choose, how to choose… for me it’s the old favourites, Clinkers.
They bring back memories of sifting through a pack biting the ends off to eat only the pink ones! These days pink is still it, I give the other colours to my poor husband!
Caramel popcorn cures my sugar fix. A creamy vanilla ice-cream is good too because you can add all sorts of extra goodies like a sprinkle of Milo, crushed KitKats, gingerbread, donuts, a splash of Baileys and so much more!
I LOVE Cherry Ripes and the chocolate coated Turkish Delight bars. For a treat to remind me of childhood, I can’t go past Milkos, Red Skins and Sherbies!

Very tricky one, I’d say my absolute favourite sweet is -An easter egg, for some reason they taste so much better than a block of chocolate. I love the little caramel filled red tulip eggs I could eat a whole pack just to myself. I always did think I could see the shadow of easter bunny in the moon though ;)
