Is it really May – already?! It has been a crazy busy week and as result, the house is currently littered with half-completed projects.

Such as:

1) An almost-completed owl stencil based on a drawing I did on the back of an envelope. It’s the first time I’ve used an Exacto knife – very challenging indeed. My hand cramped up a few times but I think I’m finally getting used to it. The stencil will be used for a project due at the end of the month.

2) Putting the finishing touches on a doll pattern that should be available in a few week’s time.

3) Testing out 2 prints to see how they look on paper. They are drawings made with a Sharpie pen and then digitally coloured. I’m now considering what type of paper to use for the final prints.

4) This is what my cutting table currently looks like. The beginnings of a custom Happy Chibi Girl.

Crafty plans for tonight have somewhat been put aside in favour of enjoying this book that I picked up today – “New Fashion Illustration by Martin Dawber“. Inside you’ll find interviews with various fashion illustrators from around the world (talking about their background, inspirations and creative process) plus examples of their work. The styles are wonderfully diverse – a great source of ideas and inspiration for my own little illustrations.

Hopefully there will be a few finished projects by the time the weekend rolls around :-)

My apologies to those who are waiting on the next installment of the Ruby Doll pattern. It is currently near the bottom of my To Do list and should be available towards the end of this month.
