Making, Finding, Being . . .

Posted Saturday 20 October 2007 and filed under: Good Finds, Just Sharing

1) Finally cut into some of my recent favourite fabrics (including fabric from Shannon and Lara) and combined them with linen on the outside and fun lining on the inside to make a new batch of Take ‘em Tote bags, for inclusion in the next shop update.

2) Working on some Happy Chibi dolls. This one is patiently waiting for the rest of her face and completion of her dress. Tights and dress are from one of Mikes’ vintage fabric stashes:

3) Found: 2 second-hand vintage 1960’s women’s knee-length smocks . . .

. . . to be re-purposed into some dresses for happy chibi girls, patchwork, and an assortment of other things.

4) Being happily inspired by this illustration from one of my favourite Classic Little Golden Books, “I Can Fly” (by Ruth Krauss and illustrated by Mary Blair). More gorgeous illustrations (and further links) by Mary Blair here.

Happy Saturday all!

I remember that my sister had that book when she was little and i loved it then! Your bags are lovely-I bet it was hard to finally cut that special fabric-they will sell like hotcakes. You do such fabulous work.

Okay. Weird! This is the second time in two days that I’ve seen blog posts about that book! Oh my goodness, that has to mean something… I’m going to read it to my girls again tomorrow night, just because. I love Blair’s illustrations, they have such a sweetness about them. Beautiful things you have in the works, by the way. :0)
