A Week of Happy: Day #3
Happiness is:
1. Crossing something off the to-do list – especially when it has been sitting on the list for over a month. I’ve finally listed some new prints from the show at Hudson in my shop:

2. And a GIVEAWAY!
One free print of your choice from my shop (choose from any in this category) and one mini-cushie of your choice (choose from Owl, Peg Bear, Woodland Girl or Woodland Boy).
If you’re interested, please leave a comment on this post listing one song that always, never fails, to get you in a happy state. Leave the comment by midnight on Sunday, 9th November (AEST), and I will draw the winner (via random number generator) on Wednesday, 12th November.
A Week of Happy hosted by Pip.

There is nothing more satisfying, to me, than being able to cross something off a to-do list.
and the song, a definite no brainer for me- You Got It by Roy Orbison always makes me happy (which entails large amounts of out of tune singing and grossly uncoordinated dancing. bliss) :0)

Lovely prints – I especially like the two owls!My current happy song, which has been cheering me up since I got the album in June is ‘Long Live the Queen’ by Frank Turner: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_RbNdwY4ujw
A slightly odd choice, as it is about a close friend of his (Lex) who died of breast cancer, but it is such an uplifting song, celebrating this lady’s life and how important she was to her friends, reminding me that we’re all loved.

My song is that one that goes, “If you don’t know me by now, you will never ever ever know me… UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
Me and my mom would get such a kick out of singing that song. To this day it brings me right back. I had the AWESOME experience of it comming on the radio while I was WITH her a few months ago. My kids think Mommy and Grammy are insane now, but we had a blast.
Thanks for asking, this really put a smile on my face to remember.

Hi Jhoanna, I love music very much, in fact 6 weeks ago I started taking singing lessons (and that on the age of 40, hey!). But I love classical music and the song that allways make me joyfull is the opening song of the Christmas Oratorio of Bach: “Jauchzet, frohlocket” and my favorite recording is that of John Eliot Gardiner.
Hope I didn’t surprise you too much!
Kind regards from The Netherlands,
Hannie

Oh, when I’m down I put in anything by Bob Marley. Especially Three Little Birds. Elizabeth Mitchell did a cover of this song on her album “You are my Little Bird” (the whole album is really wonderful — here bits on her site here: http://www.youaremyflower.org/home.html). My son loves it too! We were very tempted to call him Ziggy (after Ziggy Marley) and if we have a girl this round, she might end up being Marley… :)

Currently I love the song “I’m yours” by Jason Mraz. It makes me want to dance and sing along – good if I am at home, but a little embarrassing if I am at work! And I love “Breathing you in” by The Whitlams, a very sweet song that always leaves me with a smile on my face :)

The song that first springs to mind is The greatest discovery by Elton John. Its about a boy discovering his new baby brother, a friend his parents have made for him. It quite poignant for me. It always makes me think of my sons, who are the best of friends. Simon was, therefore, the obvious choice as best man when Adam recently married.
BTW I am crossing off a couple of 5 year plus UFOs. Feels really good too.
Love your stuff.

A song that never fails to cheer me up? It’s gotta be “Don’t Stop Me Now” with Queen. ^-^ Trying to sing it together with Freddy, getting my tongue all twisted up in the words and the speed – and in the end just laughing because I’m completely out of breath.

My favourite to-do lists are the ones with lots of small tasks on them so you get to cross LOTS off and you feel very productive! I love to bustle around busily.
For cheering up I can’t go past ‘Roll to Me’ by Del Amitri. It was actually featured on a car ad down here a while ago (Melb) so you’ll probably recognise it if you ever get to hear it! Such a happy song.
