Your hugs are a best-kept secret
So I was planning to focus on completing the blonde-haired doll since the last post and not get distracted so easily. But then I came across Design for Mankind’s newest project and I just couldn’t resist! :-)
Mankind teamed up with Boooooooom last month to gather over 400 encouraging comments – the second part of the project is to design a postcard using any of the 400+ comments. You can draw it, paint it, collage it – whatever your creative heart desires! Just be sure to submit your file to Mankind by the 1st of February. All the details are here.
I scanned through all the words of encouragement (there are a lot of gems) and instantly zoomed in on “Your hugs are a best-kept secret“.
So I sketched out my idea based on my Woodland Girls:

Inked it:

Scanned it and played around with it using Illustrator and Photoshop. Here’s what I came up with:

I had a blast making this one (probably because I was also watching Be Kind, Rewind at the same time – so funny!) and I hope to make a couple more. It’s a great project – hope you join in too!
Okay, I will definitely be working on the doll tonight. Her name is Constance by the way – because she’s constantly nagging me to finish her up already! :-)

She’s really cute Jhoanna – she reminds me of my smallest.
