Third Year Giveaway

Posted Thursday 26 March 2009 and filed under: Just Sharing

My creative space this evening: the couch and footstool -

Not much actual creating but more soaking in the inspiration from the Meet Me At Mikes book (which I will blog more about next week after the official launch – exciting!) and the latest (and in full-colour) Mix Tape zine. Plus chenille cupcake by Jodie, postcards by Genki (sadly closing soon!) and crocheted blanket by Michelle.

Thank you for all your kind comments on my last post :-)

This week has certainly been much better. The girls are over the worst of their colds. I met my deadline at work after 2+ months of working to a crazy schedule. My Dad is already talking about getting a new sweet little puppy. I received this striking painting by Rebecca Murphy that I won from the Art Fights Fire fundraiser a few weeks ago (just looking for the perfect frame). And I enjoyed a most delicious flour-less lemon cake with cream frosting today for afternoon tea :-)

And the sewing mojo has decided to return. I have had bunnies on the mind – perhaps it is because Easter is around the corner and I am seeing bunnies everywhere I look. Perhaps it is also because my 3rd blogiversary just sailed by and I was reminded of the first softie I designed and sold – a Bunny Chibi :-) So I have cut out a few new bunnies and hope to put them together over the next few days. Nice and easy. With no deadlines. Sweet.

To celebrate my 3rd blogiversary, I will be giving away a Cheery Chimp pattern + Woodland Doll-head Brooch Kit + fat quarter of my Woodland Girl cotton print (which I have printed via Spoonflower but is not for sale).

To join, please leave a comment about the happiest thing that has happened to you this week :-) I am sure that even if you have had a relatively off week, you can find something in amongst it to be happy about. Comments will be accepted up until midnight Saturday 28th AEST and Mr Random Number Generator will pick a winner on Sunday :-)

Oooh I *love* it that you have the blanket close by your creative space! Makes me feel like we’re talking or sharing crafting time. Congratulations on the blogiversary, it’s amazing how they do come up isn’t it? I’ve got to get in on the action and also brag a little, because this week I received a letter that Rebecca is the recipient of another award at school – not Student of the Month, but a trimester award, the highest honor. The awards ceremony is tomorrow, I’m off to borrow a video camera…

I think the best thing that’s happened to me this week, is finding the time to have a quiet moment between the stressfullness of our jobs to just cuddle together on the coach and talk. It keeps surpricing me how difficult that is sometimes.

Hi Jhoanna, and congrats on your third blogversary! I have been blogging for about three weeks now so can’t imagine what three years would feel like – a great achievement I would imagine! I’ve been in a bit of a funk this week, just overwhelmed with the demands of motherhood mostly. So my husband took our 3-year-old daughter out last night to go watch our son’s soccer practice. It was so nice to have some space but the nicest part was that I had time to miss them, and when they all came home with happy faces, running around like loonies, I felt like ‘home’ was ‘home’ again. It felt right. So I guess my happiest moment was being thankful for what I have. Have a great weekend! Vikki :-)

Stumble on excellent fabric finds at the local op shop yesterday. My just 1 year old starting to spoon feed himself. My little girl telling me that When I grow down she will be my mum. As opposed to her growing up and being my mum then. Two lovely sunshiny warm autumn days. Catching up with an old friend on the phone late last night. There are too many but all have been happy.

Also topping that off was the teacher telling me what a beautiful heart she has and she is so caring towards the other kids.

I have to say that I popped into the craft show when you were there and your creations were so beautiful.
