Hey Jho,
Thank you so much for those wonderful write ups on the Gippsland region. It is great to know such beautiful attractions exist only 1 hour out of Melbourne, and this is such a viable alternative to the usual tourist attractions (e.g. Grampians, Great Ocean Road), which are much further away.
For the crafter, it sounds like a haven as well with lots of artistic and crafty things to keep you occupied. In fact, I think it would be a perfect destination to spend a week – one could take advantage of the peace and quiet to work on their hobbies, and also take short trips to visit the attractions.
For the family, I think there would be plenty of interesting things such as horses and alpacas to keep the little ones entertained.
Anyway, Gippsland is definitely on the todo list – thanks again!
Julian

Great giveaway Jho!!! I would love a week in the Gippsland region! I’ve always wanted to visit Walhalla, just for the name alone – LOL. Yarragon would be another place we’d love to visit as I love antiques and bric-a-brac stores and hubby loves the gourmet wines and produce (okay, so do I). We’d definitely check out farmers markets too, and maybe the alpaca farm for the kids.

hi Jhoanna!
unfortunately i don’t have a blog but i would still love to enter this great competition!
as we live in inner city melbourne, i long for the opportunity to get my two boys, 15 months & 3 & a half, out into nature! unfortunately i don’t have my drivers license so i can’t take them too far.
the Blerick Country Retreat Luxury Cottages sound absolutely fantastic and look gorgeous too! the main thing i’d LOVE to do is take the kids to Gunbuya Park to see the native animals and also to wear them out on the rides (guaranteeing a good night’s sleep for all!).
the other thing i’ve been longing to do is take the bigger kid for a pony/horse ride and i see from the photos on the Blerick Country Retreat website that they have horses (and cows!) there so maybe, just maybe…
by the way, i don’t know why i’ve got a bee in my bonnet about horse riding for the kid as i’ve had three “incidents” ranging from horse galloping up sand dunes and me screaming the entire way as i could not get it to stop (no falling), second incident involved the horse from hell and did involve falling, to the third experience where we have horse galloping up hill on wine farm (hard clay road) with me screaming (again) and falling in what seemed like slow motion as the stirrups came away from the saddle (are you kidding me?!) and doing a head over bum twice ending in a not-so-graceful pile next to a grape vine. needless to say i had to go to the doctor (a half hour drive away) and have stitches in my head (i still have a lovely bump) followed by the worst pain after childbirth/labour, a tetanus injection! and i’m pretty sure i had concussion after all that too but i don’t remember (probably because i bashed my brain so hard on the ground) :D WOO HOO!
anyway! i’d love to win this holiday for my little family – they need nature and so do i so please, please consider us for this fantastic prize?
thanks Jhoanna!
:) Candice
